Sopron is located in North-West Hungary, close to the Austrian border. The city of Sopron can be easily reached both from Budapest and from Vienna (Austria) by highway and railway.

Arriving by plain, you can choose either

•   Budapest airport (Hungary)

•   Vienna airport (Austria)

•   Bratislava airport (Slovakia)

Depending on the airport you choose to arrive, the best way to get to Sopron is:

At the airport take the airport bus until the terminus (Kobánya-Kispest). Change to the Metro (it starts only in one direction) and get off at the 10th stop (Deák tér). Change to the red line metro and travel to the Keleti Pályaudvar (Eastern Railway Station).

(You will need three tickets, each is about one EUR. It takes about 1 hour.)

From this railway station you can take a train to Sopron. (Ticket costs about 12 euro, and it takes 2.5 hour).

You can travel by train from the airport to Sopron. There is a train from Vienna to Soporn almost every hour, the trip is 1.5 hours and costs about 10 euro.

In Sopron it is easy to move around on foot, because of the layout of the city.
